Dee-riffic!

Staycation Time!!

Well, I'm officially on vacation! Yay! We've had a wonderful week and weekend! Mommy brought Dee and pizza downtown to my office on Friday and we had a nice lunch! The true reason she came was to bring my wallet since I forgot it at home and had almost zero gas in my vehicle! She bailed me out though! Yesterday (Saturday) we woke up pretty early, made some coffee, and started cleaning our house! Nana Mel and Rick came over for lunch and to watch the Colts game! They stopped and picked up our favorite (BW3's) for lunch! We watched most of the Colts game, then started playing some bowling and Fit games on the Wii. It was fun! Tracy and Chad Bowers and their boys, and Mindy Hogg stopped over to visit as well! Last night Rik, Dee and I went to Skyline Chili for dinner in Noblesville, dropped off our recycling on the way, and watched a movie (Changeling) in bed! Today we hung around the house pretty much all day! I worked on the Frame wedding video, and transferred Gen and Garrett's footage to my PC so I can start editing theirs soon! We grilled out for dinner. Darian has taken several good naps today...which is rather rare for him lately! He usually fights sleep, but he's been a good little sleeping boy today! And just keeps getting cuter and cuter...as you can obviously see!

Baby Boy's Birthday's!!

We are celebrating 2 birthdays today! Darian Lee turned 11 weeks old today and Hubble Wayne turned 10 years old! I love my boy's! We've had a good week so far! Played basketball at Holland Park last night with a bunch of high school kids...wore me out! Marc and Jess came over last night to do our Fantasy Football Draft! Rikki even joined our league this year! Should be great fun! Dee has been a joy lately. He's smiling all the time, though he still has his serious furrows brow look a lot, which I find almost as cute! I can just see the intelligence and thoughtfulness in his beautiful blue eyes! He's been talking a ton as well. Not sure what he's trying to say, but we enjoy making up his dialogue for him! His voice is so cute. Mommy is starting to get sad already because she goes back to work after Labor Day! :( Hopefully the rest of the week continues to go as swimmingly! Till later...

Dee time...1st State Fair

The Girton family had a wonderful week! We were quite busy, but had a lot of fun! Friday evening my Grandma and Grandpa Girton stopped by on their way back to Winchester from Iowa on a Silvertowne run. Mommy went out with some friends on Friday night for dinner and drinks, and it was daddy and Dee time! I was so excited to spend some quality time together! I thought we would maybe go to the mall and pick up some chicks :) or maybe watch some football and drink a few bottles together (me beer, dee breastmilk), but he decided that if mommy wasn't here he would rather just sleep! He didn't wake up the whole time! So I played my new Tiger Woods Wii Golf game and stared at him in the bassinet as he snoozed! Saturday Grandma Tia came over and we all went to Rik's office on 38th street to meet Adam, Casey and Fiona. We all walked the few blocks to the State Fair! It was a lot of fun! We spent a small fortune on some really healthy food! We did a bunch of eating, walking, and people watching. Darian and I got our picture taken with Indiana basketball great George McGinnis! I swear his hands were bigger than Darian! Today we had a great time at Avery Clevenger's 5th birthday party! She had a ton of friends and family over and though the weather could have been better all the kids played in the giant blow-up water slide thingy! Adam hooked a garden hose up to the kitchen sink faucet and drained their hot water heater a few times! Avery had fun and opened what seemed like hundreds of gifts! It was a action packed fun filled weekend for myself, mommy, and Dee!

Much love,

10 weeks old today!!

Darian turned 10 weeks old a couple hours ago!! Yea! What a big boy! He's actually not been very happy today though! He just doesn't want to go to sleep! He's been crying and crying, but he's so tired! He's only been calm when we have walked with him in the stroller or in our arms around the neighborhood! Poor guy! He did sleep earlier today. Mommy walked 4.5 miles in Holland Park, and he snoozed the whole time! Mommy is feeding him right now, so hopefully he'll conk out for the night after his tiny belly is full! I edited a good portion of Tyler and Marcia Frame's wedding film this evening, but still have quite a bit left to do! Yesterday I played basketball in Holland Park with Luc, while Rik and Dee walked a few miles! Going to try to get some rest now. nightie night.

A few pics from Clark's Wedding....

Family Fun...

It was a busy but fun week and weekend! Mommy and Dee had a really busy day on Friday! They got up early on Friday to meet Loni for a walk on the monon in Carmel. They walked to the Salon that Rikki used to manage, Salon 01, so some of her friends could meet Darian. Then they went to lunch with Doug and Ann, who were in town for an eye appointment! Friday night we stayed home, had taco night, and watched the movie '12 Rounds'. Saturday we caught up on some housework and I did some editing on Marcia and Tyler's wedding film. Gigi (Grandma Tia) came to visit and babysit so Rik and I could get ready to go to Brian and Eliza Clark's wedding! We took Darian with us and he was such a trooper! The wedding was outside at their house on the west side, and I was the 'unofficial' photographer. It was a beautiful ceremony conducted by Brad Younts. We had a grand time. Dee was passed around quite a bit. Chris Watkins and Nicki Owens (Scott Longnecker's mom) were great babysitters! Thanks! It was a really nice wedding. Today we traveled back to Winchester to the annual Bertram reunion at the Beeson Clubhouse. Grandpa Tony snatched Dee away as soon as we got there! Several of Rikki's family members hadn't met him yet, so he was passed around some again! He was a little grouchy most of the day. We think his belly was hurting, as he had a dirty diaper almost every time we changed him! Poor guy. After the reunion we stopped and GG Reishs' house for a visit. They were both really happy to see him! Rik's best friend Morgan was in town, so we stopped down at Bunny and Monty's house to see her for a few on our way out of town! It was an action packed weekend, but we had a really good time as a family!

Immunizations...

So for Dee's 9 week birthday today we decided to do something really fun!! We went to the County Health Department first thing this morning so he could get his shots!! We only had to wait for 3 hours!! Actually, it wasn't too bad. The wait was probably worth it, as we only had to pay $5 for all his shots...plus Rik and I both received our tetanus shots! He was such a good little boy! He smiled and cooed at his nurse and was in a really good mood until she pierced his sensitive baby flesh with the BIG MEAN NEEDLE!!! He cried for a little while, but actually calmed down after she put his band-aids on. He was calm and fairly happy again by the time we left the nurses office. He has been pretty tired the rest of the day!! Hopefully he'll be feeling 100% again tomorrow! Goodnight.

9 weeks old!!!!!!

Our little man turned 9 weeks old today!! He's doing so great! We had a wonderful weekend. Saturday we went to grandpa Mike's to celebrate his 55th birthday. It was a beautiful day and the water was warm...but unfortunately not warm enough for Darian! We suited him up in all his gear and I handed him off to grandpa for his first swimming lesson...he started crying as soon as his toes touched the water! Poor guy! Next year he'll be ready to go! Dad grilled out some yummy burgers, dogs and chicken. We couldn't stay too long however because I had to get back to Indy to shower and change so I could go out and celebrate for a bit with Brian Clark for his bachelor party! I hooked up with everybody at 'Fox and the Hound' in Castleton to watch the UFC fights. Everyone was still sober believe it or not, as they had been partaking in festivities since 10:30 that morning. They started out with some Frisbee golf, then lunch, then go-kart racing, followed by dinner at Ted's Montana Grill, then UFC fights...with the night ending at PT's! Sunday we just chilled around the house and caught up on some housework. We did give the dogs a bath, which they badly needed! Rikki went shopping for an outfit to wear to Brian and Eliza's wedding next Saturday. Darian and I hung out on the patio for a bit and I read him a book. Yesterday mommy and Dee had a spa day at Loni's salon (28 star studio). They did a little shoe shopping, went to lunch at Red Robin, then Rik received a manicure and pedicure. They had a really good time!
