Trip to the Zoo! August 29th 2010

Me and Dee checking out the seals!  This was our last trip to the zoo.  We'll probably try to go 2 more times this year.  This was a really fun trip because we took our bikes and went for a 6 mile ride from the zoo, all around the canal downtown and back!  It was a beautiful day.  We stopped at this little cafe on the canal and had some baked brie and a beer.
This is shark tank.  People can reach into the water to pet the sharks as they swim by!  Really cool.  We tried for a while, and Darian was finally able to feel one!
Here comes sharky!
Mommy and Dee checking out the seals underwater!

We really like the polar bear.  He seems nice.  Really cute.  Darian called him Hubble.  He calls all animals Hubble now...even Sunshine, though he is starting to say Sunshine.
I think Darian might have been holding onto me pretty tight here!  :)
After checking out some animals and getting nice and hot, we cooled off at the Zoo's splash park!
You can see he's having a great time...and practically running at this point in his 'mobility' career!
We watched a little program about elephants.  After the program ended they invited everyone down to pet the big fella!
This photo was right before a threw Deedlebug on top so he could ride him around the Zoo!!
The Cheetah's are really cool!  They were being pretty lazy that day though.  Darian has a small Cheetah stuffed animal from the Zoo.  He calls it "Baby Cheetah".   He can actually say it most of the time!
Mommy and Dee with the sleeping Cheetahs in the background.

We bought a camper!!! First Camping Trip!!

Sometime in August, not sure the exact date...we purchased a new to us pop-up camper!!  It's a 1999  Rockwood Signature Pop-up with all the bells and whistles (pictured at the bottom of this blog post)!!  Our first trip was August 20th weekend with the Garvey's (they borrowed Casey's grandparents camper...pictured above).  We went to McCormick's Creek State Park in Spencer, Indiana (between Bloomington and Terre Haute).  It was such a great time!
Darian playing with a pan inside our camper.  It was really hot that weekend, but our camper has air conditioning so we were able to stay cool at night to sleep!
Getting ready to head out for a hike to Wolf Cave!  Thanks to the Hogg's for giving us the nice backpack carrier.  Darian really liked ro ride in it!  Fiona enjoyed a ride on Adam's shoulders!
Mommy on our journey into the forest...looking beautiful as always!
The entrance to Wolf Cave.  I went in about 50 feet or so, but it got pretty tight, so I came back out because I didn't feel like getting stuck!  Adam and a girl we met there went all the way through the cave, they had to crawl through a lot of it, and Adam almost got stuck, so I'm glad I didn't attempt it! :)
My family, after our hike down to a waterfall!

Darian just loves playing in water. He's pretty independent.  It was pretty slick and jagged rock in places, but he didn't want to hold daddy's hand.  He thinks he's such a big boy!

Night Night!!

Exhausted from a great weekend!

Indiana State Fair 2010 with Grandma Tia!!!

The Girton Family and my mother-in-law had a great time this year at the State Fair.  Darian and I wore our matching shirts (which all the ladies loved ;)!!  We ate way too much fried food, saw lots of animals...some of which Dee was able to pet, and we were even able to take Darian on a couple rides!

Sharing my giant corndog with my son!
Petting a calf in the cow barn!  He loved seeing all the animals.  Called everything a Doggie though!  Sheep were doggies, horses were doggies, Llama's were doggies...too cute.
Dee with the Ball State Cardinal!!  Showing some love for daddy's Alma Mater!  Go CARDS!
Strolling through the Midway with Grandma!  Getting ready for some ride and colorful lights!
On the Carousel!  He was kind of mesmerized by all the lights and sounds!
Playing games with grandma!  Grandma and mommy won him a giant Sponge Bob Square Pants...which he was scared of at first...but now calls, "Bob Bob"...and pats him on the head!
 My little darlings!!
Mommy and Dee riding in a truck ride!
Up way past his bedtime again...but a happy little camper!!

First Haircut...August 6th 2010!!!!

So this was how long our baby boys hair was before his first cut!!  It was really cute, but we were getting really tired of having to move it out of his eyes all of the time.  He didn't seem to mind though.  We took him to Cookie Cutter's, which is a hair salon that caters to children.  All of the "Barber Chairs" are animals or cars, each station has a TV and DVD player, and the stylist's let the kids pick out their own movie or cartoon to watch.  We figured this was the best place for a wildman like Dee to get his locks trimmed!  He did really well!  He even got a ballon when he was done which he loves!
Mommy and Dee getting ready to head to the Barbershop!
They have this cool little playhouse jungle gym thingy inside the salon!  As you can see Deedlebug had great fun climbing and playing in it!
Daddy had fun too...as he always does when he's hanging with his main man!
Look how long his hair was in the back too!! Not quite a mullet though!
In his racecar!!  "Zoom zoom! Cut my hair fast so I can go play again!"

Still handsome!!
