Thanksgiving and Beyond...

Last week we celebrated out first Thanksgiving with baby Dee!!  We had a wonderful time, and are so thankful to have such a sweet and beautiful baby boy to spend our Holiday's with from now on!  It's makes Rikki's and my life so much more complete, and joyful, especially being able to share our little bundle of joy with friends and family...and share we did!  I think Darian has a few bruises from being passed around so much!  We traveled back to Winchester for Turkey day on Thursday, to celebrate with the Fouse/Bertram clan at Tim and Carla's.  It was the first time we had been to their new house, and it is really beautiful.  The food was plentiful and delicious.  Our only disappointment was that Darian's GG Floyd and GG Arlene weren't able to make it!  Missed you guys, and hope Floyd is feeling better.  It was really great to see everyone!  After leaving there we headed to Saratoga to celebrate with the Moyer crew, which was hosted by my dad and Becky this year.  Tons of kids running around playing, lots of yummy eats, and some cut throat Eucher being played.  We had a wonderful time.  Jamie and Toni's son Grayden was a big fan of Deedlebug, and let him sit on his lap and play for a while, which was pretty impressive because last time we saw him he was a wildman! :)  We headed back to Fishers Thursday night so we could have all Friday at home together.  Our main goal Friday was to get the tree put up and decorated and to get our stockings hung by the fire with care! Ok, so we don't have a fireplace, but they were still hung with care!  Special thanks to Dee's great Aunt Kay for getting him his first stocking!  We are really happy with the tree this year!  Had to make a quick run to Target to get a few more ornaments and a new topper, but it turned out really well!  Darian even helped put on his first ornament that Grammy Doris and Pappy Kenny bought for him!  I ran to the grocery store and found Turkey breasts on sale for $3.24, so I purchased one and we roasted it for dinner with mashed sweet potatos, brocholli, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie for dessert!  We had our own little Thanksgiving dinner!  Darian had sweet potato's and apples, but he hasn't been eating as well lately.  We think it may be because he is cutting his first tooth, or because he has just been off his schedule.  You can feel his tooth coming through now, and we can tell it bothers him...poor Deedlebug!  Saturday we headed back to Winchester for the day.  Our first stop was at GG Dick and GG Audrey's for lunch.  Grandma Tia joined us and we had a nice visit.  Darian was really happy at first, but started to get fussy, so we loaded him up and put him to sleep in the car!  We headed to Grammy and Pappy Girton's for our "Girton" Thanksgiving at 2:00.  The Chicago crew was in town, and we had a great time.  We played our annual ping-pong tourney, and Grandpa Kenny and I whipped up on Dad and Uncle Randy, which is becoming commonplace!  Steph taught Darian the 'Tango' this time, but he didn't seem to like it as much as the 'Disco' she taught him last time!  For dinner we headed across town to GG Ann Dwiggins.  Dee's great Aunti Dianne and Uncle Max were in town to help grandma put up her Christmas decoration.  Darian was exhausted and slept through dinner, but woke up after and was in a really good mood.  Grandma fed him a bottle, then we played for a while.  He just giggled and laughed.  We again had a splendid time!  My only regret was that we didn't have time for me to teach grandma how to play cards!  Probably for the best, she would have just wallowed in her sorrow all night after I beat her!  We headed back home Saturday night so we could spend all Sunday at home getting our house in order and cheering on our beloved Indianapolis Colts!!  11-0!!  What a great Holiday weekend!

DeedleROLLYbug!!!

So I had to do another blog again tonight and let everyone know that Darian rolled over for the first time tonight!!  He rolled from his back to his stomach, then back again!!  He did this several times, to my great joy and amusement!  Mommy wasn't home from work yet, so I filmed it and showed it to her.  She was super impressed and put him down to see if he would do it for her, and sure enough he did!  Now we have to start being a lot more careful where we lay our little boy down!  He's on his way to being mobile!

Steam Shower!!

We've been doing these about everyday, as well as a warm mist humidifier to try to help Dee feel better!  Vick's Baby vapor rub on his feet, then socks on every night too!

DEE-FENCE!! GO COLTS!!

What a HUGE Colts win last night!!  Darian wore his new Horseshoe PJ's that GG Doris bought him for Halloween, and though he slept through most of the game, i'm convinced he was our little good luck charm!!  We've been pretty good since i last blogged you.  Haven't done too much, as Darian and I have both been under the weather.  We took Darian to the doctor last Monday because he has been coughing, and really congested.  He only has a cold, not strep or croup or anything more serious, so we're thankful for that!  Mommy got to hang out with her mom and Christy Starbuck on Friday, and do a bit of Christmas shopping.  Grandma Tia got to feed Deedlebug his bananas and cereal.  He's been eating pretty well.  He's had avacado and banana so far, but we're going to try sweet potato for the first time later this week!  Hope he likes it!  Overall we've been really well...loving being parents...and just can't get over how fast Darian is growing and how much he learns every single day!  As long as he's happy...so are we!

Love,

Zach, Rikki, and Dee
