Super Bowl Festivities!! 01/29/2012

We had such a great week last week, taking in the Super Bowl festivities on 3 separate occasions!  This blog is from our first trip downtown, on the Sunday before the big game!  It was a little chilly and breezy, but we were bundled up and ready for it!  We actually walked a ton on this trip, because we parked at my office at 12th and Meridian, which is about 1.2 miles directly north of the circle.  It was a nice walk on the way, but we were pretty tired on the walk home.  We spent pretty much all day walking around Super Bowl Village, and visiting the NFL Experience at the Convention Center!  We had an absolutely amazing time!  The city did a fabulous job with everything!
Our first stop was Monument Circle, to grab some lunch from the food trucks!  It was really good!
 Dee bundled up, looking handsome!
We found someone to take our picture in front of the giant XLVI!!

 Me and my best bud.
Darian did great riding in his stroller!!  I think he liked it because he was warmer.
Trying to get a pic in front of the Colts Indy car, but there were a ton of people around it!

 This was pretty cool!
We stopped in at the Huddle to grab a beer and warm up a bit.  It was pretty cool.  It's the old Nordstrom building, that they converted into a club/restaurant/bar/and store.  Bob and Tom broad casted from inside, as well as Channel 8 news.
Mommy and Dee watching a band!

 Watching a concert!

Looking down Georgia street towards The Fieldhouse.
This was a teen band from the Disney Channel, called 'Kicking Daisies'!
They were actually really good.  Very animated on stage, which Darian just loves!
There was an awesome ice sculptor there all week.  Very cool.
The graphics all over Super Bowl village were great!

They also had huge screens everywhere, so people could watch the free concerts constantly going on, without having to be near the stage!
 Go Eli!
Entrance to the Convention Center and the NFL Experience!  I love the Super Bowl logo this year too!

We bought Dee a little football so he could use it during the NFL Experience!
We had a blast!  Though we didn't realize until it was almost time for it to close, that there was an area called the Rush Zone, that was designed specifically for toddlers.  Wish we would have made it there.  Oh well, maybe next time! ;)
